Any bicycle or E-bike operated on campus must be registered, parked and locked at a bike rack and in operable condition. To register your bicycle or E-bike, you must have the serial number, make, color, and style. Bike permits can be ordered by selecting the button below (they are not sold online through the portal). If unable to complete the online form, please contact Parking Services at 517-355-8440.

Bike Permit Registration

Bike cage permits can be ordered by calling Parking Services at 517-355-8440 during business hours. These permits are not sold online through the portal.

Valid through 8/31/2024. The active permit must be registered to you and properly affixed to your bike (or E-bike) before it may be considered valid.

MSU, City of Lansing, City of East Lansing and Meridian Township registrations (permits) are acceptable if current, valid, and adhered to the stationary frame-post below the seat.

Bikes may be impounded for being improperly parked, for not being registered, or if in inoperable condition. Additional details on impounded bikes can be found here.

Valid July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

There are two secure bike storage cages offered on campus, include Trowbridge Ramp/Lot 102 (by the Communication Arts and Sciences building) and Grand River Ramp/Lot 103 (by Olin Health Center/Grand River Ave). Once purchased, a permit will be mailed – your MSU ID will grant access to the secure area. The bike cage permit must be displayed once received. In addition to the cage permit, bicycles should also be registered and have a regular bike permit displayed.
