Violation Rates and Late Fees:
In June 2023, the MSU Board of Trustees approved the first parking violation rate increase since 2001. Consideration was given to the fee schedule of fines used by the City of East Lansing and peer benchmarking was done with our B1G Conference peer institutions. The new rates are effective July 17, 2023. The most common violations and their rates are listed below:
All fine amounts are printed on the violation. Late fees are applied to all violations that remain unpaid.
Holds may be placed on student accounts due to unpaid violations. Violations that continue to remain unpaid after 150 days will be transferred to the 54B District Court in the City of East Lansing.
