Complimentary Parking Information

2026-2027 Academic Year

Any complimentary parking being offered during the 2026-2027 academic year is listed below. Dates and applicable areas will be specified. Outside the time frames listed, all lots are fully enforced per existing posted regulations and times. Lots are signed at the entrance(s) with overall requirements and restrictions; any internal lot signs are requirements in addition to those posted at entry.

Leased spaces, university vehicle spaces, and accessible spaces should not be parked in even on university holidays unless you meet the space requirements. Special events may impact entry and fees for certain lots. Information listed is subject to change, please contact Parking Services at 517-355-8440 with any questions.

August 2026:

  • Lots 15, 83, and 91 are complimentary for summer through 8/30/26.
  • Lot 89 is complimentary for summer through 9/7/26.
  • 8/15/26 through 8/30/26 - Break between summer and fall semesters; complimentary meters and pay-by-plate parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply. Permit and patient areas are still enforced.

September 2026:

  • 9/7/26 - University holiday; campus has complimentary parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply.
  • Lot 89 is complimentary through 9/7/26.

October 2026:

  • 10/26/26 & 10/27/26 - Fall break; complimentary meters and pay-by-plate parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply. Permit and patient areas are still enforced.

November 2026:

  • 11/26/26 & 11/27/26 - University holiday; campus has complimentary parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply.

December 2026 / January 2027:

  • 12/21/26 through 1/18/27 - Break between fall and spring semesters; complimentary meters and pay-by-plate parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply. Permit and patient areas are still enforced.
  • 12/24/26 through 1/3/27 - University holiday; campus has complimentary parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply.

January 2027:

  • 1/18/27 - University holiday; campus has complimentary parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply.

March 2027:

  • 3/6/27 through 3/14/27 - Spring break; complimentary meters and pay-by-plate parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply. Permit and patient areas are still enforced.

May 2027:

  • 5/10/27 through 5/16/27 - Break between spring and summer semesters; complimentary meters and pay-by-plate parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply. Permit and patient areas are still enforced.
  • 5/31/27 - University holiday; campus has complimentary parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply. 

July 2027:

  • 7/5/27 - University holiday; campus has complimentary parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply.
2025-2026 Academic Year
  • 9/1/25 - University holiday; campus has complimentary parking. Any overnight restrictions still apply.
  • Lot 89 is complimentary through 9/7/25.
